Thank you, California Legislature and Gov. Schwarzenegger!
On September 26, the Governor signed Senate Bill 1406—the
Correa-Aanestad Access to Vision Care Act. Beginning January 1,
2009, licensed Doctors of Optometry—California's primary eye care
providers—will be able to do much more to diagnose, treat, and manage
eye conditions and diseases. This expanded authority will result
in better care and will save you, their patients, time and money.
